Some United eFile services incorporate or facilitate access to products and services supplied by independent third parties.
The following disclosures are intended to help customers understand these relationships.
1. United eFile Is Not the IRS
United eFile is a private business and is not the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) or any other federal, state, or local government agency.
References to IRS programs, forms, publications, terminology, electronic filing, EFINs, PTINs, tax rules, or other government resources are provided for informational or operational purposes.
United eFile does not control:

2. EFIN and PTIN Requirements
An Electronic Filing Identification Number (“EFIN”) is issued through the IRS e-file application process to approved providers.
A Preparer Tax Identification Number (“PTIN”) is generally required for individuals who prepare or assist in preparing federal tax returns for compensation, subject to applicable IRS requirements.
Purchasing software, training, or other services from United eFile does not itself qualify a person or business for an EFIN, PTIN, or other governmental authorization.
United eFile does not guarantee approval of an EFIN, PTIN, or other credential.
Customers should consult current IRS guidance to determine the requirements applicable to them.
3. Third-Party Tax Software
Certain professional tax software offered through United eFile may be developed, licensed, hosted, or supported in whole or in part by independent software providers.
Third-party software may be subject to separate:

5. Refund Advances Are Not IRS Refunds
Where a participating provider offers a refund advance, the advance is a financial product offered by the applicable provider.
A refund advance is not the taxpayer's actual IRS refund and is not issued by the IRS.
Approval and advance amounts are determined by the provider according to its applicable requirements.
